Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier assisted Axel Springer SE in obtaining an unconditional clearance from the French Competition Authority to acquire Concept-Multimédia from Spir Communication

Axel Springer SE is a leading media and digital company which notably operates SeLoger.com in France. On 24 July 2017, Axel Springer SE notified to the French Competition Authority its intention to acquire Concept-Multimédia and its main brand, Logic-Immo, from Spir Communication.

Due to the overlap between SeLoger and Logic-Immo’s activities on the market for online real estate classifieds, the French Competition Authority opened an in-depth phase 2 review on 11 September 2017.

On 1 February 2018, the French Competition Authority authorized the transaction unconditionally.

The French Competition Authority opens, on average, two in-depth phase 2 reviews per year and has only once before authorized a transaction unconditionally following such an in-depth review.
