Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advises GEFCO in the context of the acquisition of the group by CMA CGM

Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier advises the GEFCO Group in the context of:

– the repurchase of the entire 75% stake held by Russian Railways (RZD), placed on the list of sanctioned companies as a result of the war in Ukraine;

– the subsequent acquisition of nearly 100% of the shares of GEFCO by the CMA CGM Group including the minority shareholding of nearly 25% held by Stellantis N.V.

The acquisition by the CMA CGM Group is subject to the approval of the competition authorities. However, under a derogation procedure, the European Commission has authorized CMA CGM to immediately acquire GEFCO’s shares, pending final approval in the coming months.
